Order Fulfillment
As a management team committed to efficiency and accuracy with years of Direct Response experience, FP has designed and written our own custom order management software. As a dynamic system that responds to the ever-changing requirements of our business, existing programs are enhanced and new programs are written by our on-site programmers. The enhancements are based on client and internal requirements, as well as changing technology, to maximize service and efficiencies.
The fully-integrated system manages: order entry, order processing, payment processing, inventory control, warehouse management, receiving, shipping services, billing, and customer service and integrates with and/or links to outside vendors and clients.
The FP system generates a report when an order requires product for which there is no stock. A manufacturing order is entered with a priority code indicating that a customer order is waiting for the product. Depending on the client's business rules for that product, FP will either manufacture only the amount required for the customer's order or manufacture a designated amount of overage for a small inventory to be on hand. Once the product is manufactured, it is systematically received into inventory. When all products required for the order are in inventory, pick tickets and packing slips print, and the order is picked, packed, and shipped.
Production Software
The production software was also written with years of experience and understanding of the unique needs of duplication and has the same ability to be modified as new services or procedures are needed. This production software includes integrated systems of master activity tracking, materials management, job tracking, and quality control.
Communications with Related Companies
FP sends and receives files electronically, using multiple file formats and communication protocols. In addition, we are linked directly with FedEx and UPS using electronic manifesting. FP is able to take PO information provided in files and use it in the receiving process. And, of course, FP can e-mail consumers about order status and/or tracking number. FP is confident that we can accommodate the communication needs of a client.
Inventory Control / Warehouse Management
The applications of inventory control and warehouse management are incorporated into our custom order management software. Wireless scanners are used to capture and compare data, and the system is completely real-time, incorporating shipping, receiving, product moves, and returns.
Web Access and / or Other Visibility Tools
Currently, real-time reporting and access are available via web and via SSL secured 5250 emulation. Specific client requested reports are provided via e-mail.
Existing Technology Systems and Architecture
FP uses the newest IBM technology, an i5 520. The i5 520 now houses all of our custom software applications as well as our internal network. Employees connect to the i5 520 using a PC or an IBM terminal.
We use a Linux web server for our shopping carts / on-line stores and T-1s for outside connectivity.
